-Zig Ziglar

If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost.

-Zig Ziglar

-Zig Ziglar

Every choice you make has an end result.
-Zig Ziglar

If you want to reach a goal, you must “see the reaching” in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.
-Zig Ziglar

It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.
-Zig Ziglar

It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you use that makes a difference.
-Zig Ziglar

Some of the best quotes I’ve ever read.  Really good qoutes to chew on in your mind.  I know I will.  Life really comes down to the choices we make and the determination we have.  Zig is definitely worth a listen and a read.

Hi,

Do you know my friend, Cathy? Cathy is an amazing woman and a good friend—I hope that I can be that kind of friend to others. I first met Cathy about 8 years ago through our business. We immediately became good buddies online. No, we have never met in person, but Cathy has still had a profound, positive influence on my life.

Vinnie is Cathy’s oldest child. He just had his 10th birthday. As long as I have known Cathy, Vinnie has had a pretty severe heart problems (including cardiac arrest and surgery), autism, and Williams Syndrome. Then along came Julianna- she is a beautiful child who bravely struggles to overcome autism. The youngest, Giana, is very bright and has a seizure disorder. I saw a video of the children recently and they are beautiful, active children! Cathy and her husband care for them, take them for therapy and treatments…but most of all love them. Cathy is busy from early morning and many times thru night with her varied responsibilities as therapist, nurse and loving parent. Do you know what? I have never heard her complain! She often emails me to tell me how good God is to her—how blessed she is. She reaches out to support me and be my friend when I am going through a tough time!!

Some days we all get down’! It’s normal—we all face disappointment and situations that cause us stress. I know you will get tired of hearing me say this, but I am convinced that despite our problems, we are blessed!! We just need to remember how blessed our lives are and how good God has been to us. We need to walk in VICTORY—not DEFEAT!!

Here is what I try to do when I am discouraged or feel overwhelmed with life! I do my best to look outside the box—outside of my own circumstances. It doesn’t take long for me to find someone with far greater challenges that I have. Often it will help if I can do something to assist that person….it doesn’t have to be a monetary assistance (but that works too!). It can just be taking the time to listen to that person and offer support. Some times by re-focusing my attention, I will find my own problem doesn’t seem nearly so big!

Cathy is a living example of love in action—she is one of my heroes and an example to follow!

Hello Max Pro readers,

Just when I am feeling like the weight of the world is crashing down on me, I get a reminder that things aren’t really so bad after all!! I know that many of you are dealing with personal/family problems and over shadowing many people is the economy. It’s easy to focus our attention on only these things and forget to see the bigger picture.

I was reminded twice recently about this. We have very good friends, Jim and Debora, who are missionaries in Africa. Let me tell you—if I had to face the hardships and dangers those dear friends face all the time, I would probably have run home as fast as I could long ago. I notice that when they are in the states, their hearts and minds are back in Africa with the children in the orphanage they run. Those children have all lost their parents due to AIDS.

I received an email from Debora last Thursday. When they built the facility, they had to go through over 1000 feet of rock to find water. That was a lengthy and very expensive process. Last week (they also had 25 visitors from the US there), the well went dry. The water tanks were empty and the well was totally dry. In that country, this is known as the red death sign….and means no more water will be found. Imagine their fear. Not only did they have 25 visitors in the facility with them, but they are responsible for close to 100 children. They also feed one hot meal a day to about 1000 people who otherwise have nothing.

You are probably feeling like I did last week. My problems didn’t go away, but they didn’t seem nearly as large as they had an hour earlier. Debora and Jim could have just given up…moaned and groaned…or walked away from it all. They chose rather to focus on their only source of help. When you are in a foreign country…and especially in the poverty stricken area they are in…I think your reliance on God’s mercy is great. They immediately began praying for God’s help. Within a short time, Jim ran into the facility saying all the tanks were full and the well had overflowing water.

Why did I tell you of my friends and their miracle? I want to encourage you to never give up. Keep on believing for better things and miracles in your own lives.

p.s. Watch for another post—I will tell you of the second thing that happened to make me realize I am a blessed woman!!

Hey everyone,

Here is my next installment for the weekly Positive Thinking quotes.   Often in life we can get a little down and sometimes even a simple quote can inspire us to push through to the next day.  So while this might not be a life changing Blog post, it may give you a smile, or a burst of momentum on a slow day.

This week’s quotes come from Minister Robert Schuller. You may have heard of Robert Schuller (b. Sept 16th, 1926) before, internationally renowned minister of the Crystal Cathedral, in California.  Mentored by Norman Vincent Peale (see our blog post on Peale), Robert is famous for his Hour of Power television show, and for speaking around the world on Faith and Positive Thinking.  His famous writings/speakings include Move Ahead With Possibility Thinking and You Can Be The Person You Want To Be.

Robert Schuller is considered by some to be an expert in motivational speaking and positive thinking.  He reminds us there is more to life than what we think, and that we should live exciting lives, full of possibilities and positivity.

Now for some Robert Schuller quotes:

If you listen to your fears, you will die never knowing what a great person you might have been.
Robert H. Schuller

It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.

Robert H. Schuller

It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.
Robert H. Schuller

I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.
Robert H. Schuller

If there exists no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless.
Robert H. Schuller

Failure doesn’t mean you are a failure it just means you haven’t succeeded yet.
Robert H. Schuller

Again and again, the impossible problem is solved when we see that the problem is only a tough decision waiting to be made.
Robert H. Schuller

Always look at what you have left. Never look at what you have lost.

Robert H. Schuller

Goals are not only absolutely necessary to motivate us. They are essential to really keep us alive.
Robert H. Schuller

Goals must never be from your ego, but problems that cry for a solution.
Robert H. Schuller

High achievers spot rich opportunities swiftly, make big decisions quickly and move into action immediately. Follow these principles and you can make your dreams come true.
Robert H. Schuller

These Robert Schuller quotes are phenomenal!  They really are.  Each one is powerful and can create change in our lives.  You should seriously write down a half dozen of them that really spoke to you or impressed you, and post them places you will read them each day. Places like- on your computer, bulletin board, office desk, refrigerator, bathroom mirror, even a piece of paper to put in your wallet or your purse.

Even a tiny little quote can create an avalanche of accomplishment.

To success and positive thoughts, a great weekend and week,

Hello,

It’s now 09/11/2009Eight years since the world stopped turning on that tragic day in America.

American Flag Flying High.

American Flag Flying High.

We all know the story.  The sadness and loss in New York City, Washington DC and the Pennsylvania Countryside.

But there is more about that day than that.  It’s about Hope, Perseverance, Faith, and the best things that life is made up of.

09/11/01 – Tragedy.  Hope.  Perseverance.

09/11/09 -  We remember.  And we still have hope and perseverance.

Just as much as we remember the loss on that day, we also remember the hope.  We remember those men and women who rushed into danger and possible death just to help another person live. They risked their own lives for complete strangers.  They are heroes.  We remember those who passed away on that day, and honor them.

The Fire Deparment of New York. Heroes.

The Fire Deparment of New York. Heroes.

We sometimes only remember the mind-boggling loss of September 11th, 2001But we should also remember the mind-boggling good of that day too.

Whether it was the FDNY (fire department of new york), or the NYPD ( new york police department), or the NYPA (new york port authority), people rushed into the danger of burning and collapsing buildings just to save other peoples’ lives.

And ordinary every-day citizens of New York City also rushed into danger, or in some cases back into danger, to help save the lives of people they didn’t even know.

We persevere, remember and honor.

We will never forget that day, and our hope lives on.

We will never forget.

We will never forget.

That hope and strength galvanized us as a nation, and made us appreciate our every-day lives even more.

This blog post today isn’t about business, or anything else really.
It’s about remembering that day…

… And remembering that we, too, can make a difference every day in our lives.

We can help a total stranger.  We can smile and wave.  We can do the things we always put off.  We can help those in need.  We can do more, do better, do for ourselves and for others.  We can remember our hopes and dreams.  We can do the things in life we truly want to do.

Being a hero is just a title we give people. Some deserve it though.  Those who helped and passed on 09/11… Soldiers in WWII… doctors, nurses, nuns, ministers, volunteers, and on and on.  But you and I can do heroic things too.  We can help others.  We can do for others.  We can live our dreams.

So as we remember those who passed and those who helped on that September day in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania… we can also remember that we too can help others.  That we too can have hope and perseverance.  That we too can live our dreams.

To the memory and honor of those who passed away, and those who heroically helped others, on 09/11/01.
