Here is my next installment for the weekly Positive Thinking quotes. Often in life we can get a little down and sometimes even a simple quote can inspire us to push through to the next day. So while this might not be a life changing Blog post, it may give you a smile, or a burst of momentum on a slow day.
Positive Thinker Steve Pavlina
This week’s quotes come from the nationally known inspirational speaker and master of psychology Steve Pavlina (April 14th, 1971 –), has influenced the direction of the power of thought for years. His blog, books, and seminars have pushed the envelope in exploring and redefining what it means to think, and to think positively. Steve is the voice of positive thinking for the 21st century online. He has written more than 1000 articles and recorded many audio programs on a broad range of self-help topics, including productivity, relationships, and spirituality. His website, www.stevepavlina.com , ranks as one of the most successful (and influential) in the world. And he did it all on his own.
It all started for Steve at the age of 19 after spending a night in jail for petty theft, and being expelled from school. He knew that’s not life he wanted, and he decided then to make changes. While developing his own sense of positive-thinking, he earned two college degrees in three semesters, in computer science and mathematics.
Since his self-improvement journey began, he sought to share with others all the things he’s learned. Starting his own Blog, StevePavlina.com, he quickly shared his profound insight in regularly updated posts and articles. It’s a Blog for those who think. You won’t just find simple platitudes here. You’ll find them explored and expounded upon with insight and intelligence.
Steve put all his energy into his site, and it quickly gained popularity and support. He now brings in 6-figures a month, from his site alone! Talk about traffic! And it just goes to show you… if you combine proven-marketing strategy with a deep passion, you can find success. And Steve did.
So check his site out, you won’t be let down. He truly is one of the best positive-thinkers in the world today.

Now for some Steve Pavlina quotes:
Persistence of action comes from persistence of vision.
So act boldly, as if it’s impossible to fail. If you keep adding fuel to your desire, you will reach the point of knowing that you’ll never quit, and ultimate success will be nothing more than a matter of time.
Courage is the dividing line between weakness and strength of character.
Courage is the gateway in the sense that you must first learn to face down your fears, even as they still appear real to you.
One of my core beliefs is that belief itself is a choice that can be made of our own free will.
The more disciplined you become, the easier life gets.
Willpower is a concentration of force. You gather up all your energy and make a massive thrust forward.
Our beliefs act as lenses. These lenses can help us see things we can’t otherwise see, but they can also block us from seeing parts of reality.
Passion and purpose go hand in hand. When you discover your purpose, you will normally find it’s something you’re tremendously passionate about.
By courage I mean the ability to face down those imaginary fears and reclaim the far more powerful life that you’ve denied yourself.
True courage is more a matter of intellect than of feeling.
Courageous people are still afraid, but they don’t let the fear paralyze them.
Some good quotes that really make you think. StevePavlina.com is definitely worth a visit. It’s easy to navigate around, and he touches on so many topics you’ll be sure to find something helpful and useful.
I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land. —Genesis 31:13 There are things about you that only God knows. You have told nobody, but God has a way of getting inside your heart with a single word. This is the way He conquers the hardest heart and the greatest skeptic with his closed spirit.
Nobody but Jacob knew about Bethel. Bethel was a place so special to Jacob, and God knew exactly what to say. Jacob was so discouraged; he felt he had nothing to live for. And then God turned up with these words: “I am the God of Bethel.” God could have introduced Himself by saying, “I am the God of your father, I am the God of Abraham, I am the God of Isaac.” But He chose to introduce Himself in such a way that Jacob knew it was the true God.
You may ask why Jacob waited twenty years to hear these words. I can’t explain God’s timing, but I know it is perfect. God sees the end from the beginning, but He knows we want answers now. It must hurt Him to see our pain, and He longs for the moment He can speak to us. But it will be at the time when it is best for us, and when He finally steps in, we will have no complaints.
It could be that you are struggling with a situation that is very painful, and you ask, “Lord, can You see what is happening here?” You may think, as I did, when Linda had the heart attack last week– how can this be? Linda takes good care of her self and eats right. But the God of Bethel is the God who sees. He knows what you and I are feeling. He sees what they are doing. God said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb. 13:5). The God of Bethel will speak, and He will withhold nothing from you that is good.

I believe that being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can’t truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles.
-Zig Ziglar
If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.
-Zig Ziglar

If you want to reach a goal, you must “see the reaching” in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal.
-Zig Ziglar
It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.
-Zig Ziglar
It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you use that makes a difference.
-Zig Ziglar
Some of the best quotes I’ve ever read. Really good qoutes to chew on in your mind. I know I will. Life really comes down to the choices we make and the determination we have. Zig is definitely worth a listen and a read.
It was his invention factory. The 14 building complex covered several acres and the main center of operation was bigger than three football fields. Here he and his staff put their dreams into action. Inventions were conceived, prototypes developed, products manufactured and shipped to customers. This invention factory became a model for modern manufacturing and research. He loved this place–a paradise for dreamers.
On a cold December day in 1914, his factory caught fire. He stood outside and watched it burn and said to his Kids, “Go get your mother. She’ll never see another fire like this one.” Most of us would be crushed as our dreams burned. This gentleman responded to his tragedy by saying, “I am sixty-seven, but not too old to make a fresh start. I’ve been through a lot of things like this.” He rebuilt his lab and worked for another seventeen years.
What a great man! He lived his dreams and impacted the whole world with his positive lifestyle. If you look the world over and examine any profession, the real dreamers who have lasting success will almost always possess a positive outlook on life. You too can overcome tragedy or any obstacles to your dreams. Every time I flip on a light switch, this dreamer, inventor and positive person reminds me that anything is possible. Thanks, Thomas Edison!

Tony Robbins
This week’s quotes come from the inspirational speaker and corporate motivator Tony Robbins(February 29th, 1960 –), creator of such books and courses as: Unlimited Power: The New Science Of Personal Achievement and Awaken The Giant Within. I’m sure that most of you have heard of him, as he’s been a part of popular culture in America for almost 3 decades from best selling conferences, celebrity supporters, and pushing the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP.). His positive-thinking philosophies have impacted thousands of lives and revitalized companies of all kinds. He’s truly a phenomenon that stands out in today’s world of gurus and speakers. Using a mixture of science, common-sense, life-experience, and un-shakeable belief in each person, he’s truly made his mark.
Awaken The Giant Within. By Tony Robbins.
Now for some Tony Robbins quotes:
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.
- Tony Robbins
It is not what we get. But who we become, what we contribute… that gives meaning to our lives.
- Tony Robbins
It not knowing what to do, it’s doing what you know.
- Tony Robbins
It’s not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean.
- Tony Robbins
Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.
- Tony Robbins
Live with passion!
- Tony Robbins
I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.
- Tony Robbins
I’ve come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy.
- Tony Robbins
If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.
- Tony Robbins
If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results.
- Tony Robbins
My definition of success is to live your life in a way that causes you to feel a ton of pleasure and very little pain – and because of your lifestyle, have the people around you feel a lot more pleasure than they do pain.
- Tony Robbins
Once you have mastered time, you will understand how true it is that most people overestimate what they can accomplish in a year – and underestimate what they can achieve in a decade!
- Tony Robbins
One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.
- Tony Robbins
These are some pretty powerful words honestly. Not to sound too biased, but really let Tony’s words sink in. Sometimes we read positive quotes quickly and smile and then immediately forget about them. Other times we may roll our eyes at some quotes. But these quotes are strong. If we could all take just a couple of the quotes to heart, we could see a lot of changes in our lives. If you have the time, get a book or two of his, definitely worth a read.

Do you know my friend, Cathy? Cathy is an amazing woman and a good friend—I hope that I can be that kind of friend to others. I first met Cathy about 8 years ago through our business. We immediately became good buddies online. No, we have never met in person, but Cathy has still had a profound, positive influence on my life.
Vinnie is Cathy’s oldest child. He just had his 10th birthday. As long as I have known Cathy, Vinnie has had a pretty severe heart problems (including cardiac arrest and surgery), autism, and Williams Syndrome. Then along came Julianna- she is a beautiful child who bravely struggles to overcome autism. The youngest, Giana, is very bright and has a seizure disorder. I saw a video of the children recently and they are beautiful, active children! Cathy and her husband care for them, take them for therapy and treatments…but most of all love them. Cathy is busy from early morning and many times thru night with her varied responsibilities as therapist, nurse and loving parent. Do you know what? I have never heard her complain! She often emails me to tell me how good God is to her—how blessed she is. She reaches out to support me and be my friend when I am going through a tough time!!
Some days we all get down’! It’s normal—we all face disappointment and situations that cause us stress. I know you will get tired of hearing me say this, but I am convinced that despite our problems, we are blessed!! We just need to remember how blessed our lives are and how good God has been to us. We need to walk in VICTORY—not DEFEAT!!
Here is what I try to do when I am discouraged or feel overwhelmed with life! I do my best to look outside the box—outside of my own circumstances. It doesn’t take long for me to find someone with far greater challenges that I have. Often it will help if I can do something to assist that person….it doesn’t have to be a monetary assistance (but that works too!). It can just be taking the time to listen to that person and offer support. Some times by re-focusing my attention, I will find my own problem doesn’t seem nearly so big!
Cathy is a living example of love in action—she is one of my heroes and an example to follow!
Believe You Can Succeed and You Will. In order to accomplish anything you need to believe first that it’s possible. Once we have that belief, it sets the mind in motion to find ways to accomplish it. Most people never really believe in themselves, and as a result, they never get far. The moment you truly believe that you will succeed, your mind starts to think of ways to get there.
THINK BIG: “Think BIG and you’ll live big. You’ll live big in happiness. You’ll live big in accomplishment. Big in income. Big in friends. Big in respect. Start now, right now, to discover how to make your thinking make magic for you.” ~David J. Schwartz.
The great philosopher Disraeli once said: “Life is too short to be little.”
Faith is defined in the Holy Scriptures as the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. We need to always exercise faith. Faith is now! The writer John declared that if we are born of God we will overcome and will have victory through our faith.
These tough economic and stressful times that so many are facing, calls for exercising faith. Faith, the gift of God given to each of us, will accelerate the process of changing how we think, so that we position ourselves to receive what we are hoping for tomorrow. Keep the faith and exercise it! For Faith is NOW! Larry, Resident Article Expert
Just when I am feeling like the weight of the world is crashing down on me, I get a reminder that things aren’t really so bad after all!! I know that many of you are dealing with personal/family problems and over shadowing many people is the economy. It’s easy to focus our attention on only these things and forget to see the bigger picture.
I was reminded twice recently about this. We have very good friends, Jim and Debora, who are missionaries in Africa. Let me tell you—if I had to face the hardships and dangers those dear friends face all the time, I would probably have run home as fast as I could long ago. I notice that when they are in the states, their hearts and minds are back in Africa with the children in the orphanage they run. Those children have all lost their parents due to AIDS.
I received an email from Debora last Thursday. When they built the facility, they had to go through over 1000 feet of rock to find water. That was a lengthy and very expensive process. Last week (they also had 25 visitors from the US there), the well went dry. The water tanks were empty and the well was totally dry. In that country, this is known as the red death sign….and means no more water will be found. Imagine their fear. Not only did they have 25 visitors in the facility with them, but they are responsible for close to 100 children. They also feed one hot meal a day to about 1000 people who otherwise have nothing.
You are probably feeling like I did last week. My problems didn’t go away, but they didn’t seem nearly as large as they had an hour earlier. Debora and Jim could have just given up…moaned and groaned…or walked away from it all. They chose rather to focus on their only source of help. When you are in a foreign country…and especially in the poverty stricken area they are in…I think your reliance on God’s mercy is great. They immediately began praying for God’s help. Within a short time, Jim ran into the facility saying all the tanks were full and the well had overflowing water.
Why did I tell you of my friends and their miracle? I want to encourage you to never give up. Keep on believing for better things and miracles in your own lives.
Linda, Support, Blogger
p.s. Watch for another post—I will tell you of the second thing that happened to make me realize I am a blessed woman!!
Here is my next installment for the weekly Positive Thinking quotes. Often in life we can get a little down and sometimes even a simple quote can inspire us to push through to the next day. So while this might not be a life changing Blog post, it may give you a smile, or a burst of momentum on a slow day.
Roman Writer and Politician Cicero
This week’s quotes come from Roman Politician Cicero. You have probably heard the name before, if not details of this amazing man’s life. Or you may know his name from the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar, or the story of Caesar in general. You may know his name for a street or school in your town. Cicero’s legacy is among the greatest and most enduring of all time.
Marcus Tullius Cicero(106-43 BC) was born in the Roman Republic which stretched from Spain to the modern day Israel, including Ancient Greece, parts of Turkey, Egypt and most of the Northern African coast. In his adult life he became renowned for his speaking skill, his lawyer career and skill at interpreting the law, his term as Consul (or Head of State), and his philosophical writings. He is also known for being involved (on both sides) in the famous transition of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire, sparked by Julius Caesar’s history-changing crossing of the River Rubicon to take control of Rome. Cicero stood for Republic values and traditions and freedom and was one of many tutors of Octavian (Augustus), Caesar’s heir and the first Emperor of Rome. Cicero eventually lost his life standing for his principles and his life and teachings still impact people today. He lived in a time of Caesar, Augustus, Mark Antony, Brutus, Cassius, Pompey, and Cleopatra. Even Jesus was born within years of Cicero’s life. And Cicero’s legacy continues to this day just as strong as his contemporaries, if not stronger than most.
Ancient Rome - Similiar to today in many ways
Cicero’s writings on philosophy, law, government, ethics, and positive thinking have lasted for over 2,000 years and are a big part of the United States of America. The Founding Fathers nearly unanimously shared Cicero as an important inspiration for the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. His writings on Natural Law and the Rights of Man were integral to the founding of America. His teachings can be seen and felt in many countries around the world over the last few centuries. The concept of man being ‘endowed with natural inalienable rights’ is a personification of Cicero’s thinking, and much of thinking of Pre-Empire Rome. To quote John Adams, “As all the ages of the world have not produced a greater statesman and philosopher united than Cicero, his authority should have great weight.”
For the man who coined the phrase “Swan Song”, Cicero’s Swan Song is his impact on Modern society. He reminds us that we can do something special with our lives and leave our own legacies, no matter our station in life. He should know: he rose from near obscurity to the top tiers of power in Rome.
US Declaration of Independence- partially inspired by Cicero's works
Cicero is also a wealth of practical inspiration and positive thinking.
Now for some Cicero quotes:
What one has, one ought to use; and whatever he does, he should do with all his might.
- Cicero
A home without books is a body without soul.
- Cicero
Confidence is that feeling by which the mind embarks in great and honorable courses with a sure hope and trust in itself.
- Cicero
A happy life consists in tranquility of mind.
- Cicero
A life of peace, purity, and refinement leads to a calm and untroubled old age.
- Cicero
A mind without instruction can no more bear fruit than can a field, however fertile, without cultivation.
- Cicero
Advice is judged by results, not by intentions.
- Cicero
Live as brave men; and if fortune is adverse, front its blows with brave hearts.
- Cicero
If only every man would make proper use of his strength and do his utmost, he need never regret his limited ability.
- Cicero
As I approve of a youth that has something of the old man in him, so I am no less pleased with an old man that has something of the youth. He that follows this rule may be old in body, but can never be so in mind.
- Cicero
Ability without honor is useless.
- Cicero
Some very wise words from so long ago. Cicero’s words still ring true. And his life and writings are definitely worth further reading.
